Stay tuned for our 2025 Empowering Breakfasts!
Did someone say free breakfast??
Join our Empowering Breakfast at your high school!
Relationships are tough! When there are so many expectations about how to act and express ourselves based on our gender. When there are so many pressures that prevent us from saying no or walking away from a relationship.
Empowering our women and men is so important to build confidence in ourselves and build a safe and supportive community for each other. We hope to empower you all to learn about healthy relationships and break gender stereotypes in a positive light, so we can all have safe spaces to express ourselves.
With guest speakers and activities lead by your HEART team, we will discuss healthy relationships and what it means to be an ally. Topics may be triggering as May is Sexual Assault Prevention Month, but this will be a safe space for conversation, with mentors and resources available for everyone.
Please show your registration email upon arrival at the breakfast.
IMPORTANT: Please go to your first period class and let your teacher know you’ve registered for this event so they are aware you are not skipping class, and they will understand your reason for leaving that day!
Only 50 spots at MacNab and 100 spots at WDHS are available at each breakfast so sign up to secure your spot. If spots sellout we will have a waitlist you can sign up for.
Your HEART team (Healthy Education About Relationships Team) has put these events together with Healthy Youth Network and the support of school staff and our community partners. If you’d like to join our team for the next academic year, or to learn more about what we do, check out Healthy Youth Network’s Youth Portal here: https://youth.healthyouthnetwork.ca/heart/
Check out Halton Women’s Place’s video from breakfast in 2022 in which they talk about 10 green flags in a healthy relationship.
