Empowering Breakfasts 2025/26

WDHS Breakfast

We held our 5th Empowering Breakfasts at WDHS on the final day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Joëlle Kabisoso, founder of Sisters in Sync, and Mr. Jeffery, a veteran of the Canadian military, spoke about mental health, gender-based violence, masculinity, and bystander intervention. They shared personal stories and experiences, and ended with action items that students can do everyday to support their friends and help create safer and supportive communities. From Mr. Jeffery, “Check on your buddy,” and from Joëlle, “We Got You, Sis!”

This event sold out with 200 students! Thank you to all the students who attended.

Thank you to Rotary Club of Waterdown for helping us put on this event! Thank you to My Tea Bar Waterdown for catering the delicious smoothies!
