16 Days of Activism

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a time to learn about gender-based violence, and recommit to acting against it.

Be More Than A Bystander

February is Be More Than a Bystander Month. Being more than a bystander means standing up against any form of violence or harassment.

Empowering Breakfasts

In May, for Sexual Assault Prevention Month, we host our Empowering Breakfasts, where we have guest speakers speak on healthy relationships while you enjoy a free breakfast!

Additional Events

Throughout the year, HEART hosts events that aren’t related to a date throughout the year, but to keep the conversation about healthy relationships going!

Bad Boo-Haviour Trivia (WDHS)
Cyber Conversations (MacNab)
Period Drive Bake Sale (WDHS)
Advice from the HEART – Grad Event (MacNab)

International Women’s Day

Today, and everyday, we celebrate women’s achievement, take action for equality and raise awareness to #BreakTheBias. We stand with our young women of the Flamborough community who imagine a gender equal world free of bias, discrimination and stereotypes. Together we can forge women’s equality and create an inclusive community that is diverse and valued.

HEART leaders took action and spoke about what International Women’s Day means to them, and how we can break the bias in our schools and our community! We are so proud of our students, and appreciative of Waterdown District High Schools constant support and being a part of the change to create a more equal world for young girls.

We also want to thank WAGE for their support in ending bias and empowering our women.
